Membership Renewal

Thank you for your support in the past. Once again we seek your support to help fight the anti fishing groups that would try to deny us our right to dangle a line now and maintain our fisheries in good condition for our future generations.

Ecofishers represents all anglers in NSW especially the families who may only cast a line at holiday time a couple of times a year.

You will notice Ecofishers has had a change of face. Please visit our re-vamped website www.ecofishers.com and our new Facebook page.

The face of Ecofishers and the management team may have changed but the fight goes on.

Probably the biggest issue we have confronted for some time is the current review of bag and size limits.

Fisheries are proposing to halve bag limits across the board. Just like the bad old days of the previous Government there is no scientific evidence to support such a draconian measure for even one species let alone every one of them. This consultation process closes on 31st July 2013 and you can have your say here http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fisheries/recreational/info/review

Other projects we are working on at the moment include review of Marine Parks, access to boat ramps, unsustainable and/or illegal commercial fishing methods in estuaries and beaches, mulloway review (still), more research into Grey Nurse shark, bait FAD at South West Rocks, protection of Rec Fishing Havens from commercial exploitation.

ECOfishers is a state wide organization of recreational fishers, representing your views, interests and aspirations. We greatly value and appreciate your continuing support. We can’t function effectively without it. Maintain your membership and encourage others to join. Become part of the solution!
